Professional Development Opportunity

Year 2023-2024

In-service participants will complete three
courses (9 graduate credit hours) starting Fall, 2023. The professional development will be
delivered throughout the year in a hybrid format (i.e., synchronous and asynchronous formats).
These courses are funded by a grant from the U.S. Department of Education, Office of English
Language Acquisition. The 9 graduate credit hours include the following three courses:

  • SPED 601: English Language Learners and the Special Education Process (Fall, 2023)
  • SPED 602: Principles of Language Learning and Assessment of English Language Learners (Spring, 2024)
  • SPED 603: Language & Literacy Development for English Language Learners in Inclusive Settings (Summer, 2024)

Supports and Incentives for Educators Accepted into the Program*

• Tuition paid for the three graduate courses
• Books and materials for the courses
• Stipend for classroom materials of $1,500.00 for each participant

Admission Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree from a regionally- accredited university
• Hold a valid teaching or professional license
• Completion of online application, including supporting documentation

Submit Your Application

• Download and sign the agreement and principal recommendation form: Agreement.doc and Recommendation.doc
• Fill up and upload two signed documents to the google form: google form

*Admitted students are responsible for meeting special grant federal requirements and must agree to repay the tuition and other incentives should they default on the requirement to finish the program.
